Health and Wellbeing

The Club is delighted to be one of the two Cavan clubs selected to participate in Phase 2 of the GAA Healthy Club project. Our near neighbours Killygarry is the other Cavan club & we wish them all the best .
GAA Healthy Clubs was created to help clubs in their efforts to meet the health & wellbeing needs of their members & the communities they serve. Driven by the GAA’s structures at national, provincial, county & club level the project has generated a unique public/ private partnership involving the Irish health sector:- HSE/ National office for Suicide Prevention/ Healthy Ireland and Irish Life.
Phase 2 was rolled out on Saturday last in Croke Park. The Clubs involved will embark on an 18 month journey to achieve required & desired criteria. We look forward to the challenges & invite every member to be involved at some level. The Healthy Club Co ordinator is Mary McCarthy , Club Vice Chairperson and our Health & Wellbeing Officer is Brian Galligan. Bí Folláin.

Stephen’s Day Event

There was a great turn-out for our inaugural 7’s mini tournament for Ladies and Men, past and present, which took place on St. Stephen’s Day in Terry Coyle Park. Eight teams, almost 80 players, competed for the splendid new St. Stephen’s Day 7’s Cup. The new Clubrooms catered with ease for players and spectators alike. Thank you to all who organised, participated in, and attended a great morning’s sport and fun.

Bag-Pack

A big thank you to all volunteers who gave their time to bag-pack on Christmas Eve. The rota was full all day. Thanks to Mary and Niall for coordinating. Thanks especially to Mr. Kevin O’Reilly and Dunnes Stores for their support.
